Der 1974 in Blumenau (im Süden Brasiliens) geborene Alex Rossi lernt schon als Kind Mundharmonika spielen.Entlang der Straße, die ihn zur Schule und zu seiner Großmutter führte, lag das einzige Mundharmonikawerk auf dem amerikanischen Kontinent. Oft stahl er sich in das Werk, um den Instrumenten bei ihrer Entstehung zuzuschauen. Dabei stellte er fest, dass es im Werk niemanden zu geben schien, der das Instrument spielen konnte. Das mag erklären, warum Alexandre seine erste Mundharmonika erst als 13-Jähriger ansetzte.
Anhand seiner musikalischen Erfahrung auf dem Saxophon und den Percussion-Instrumenten sowie der technischen Hinweise, die man ihm im Werk gab, entwickelte er seine eigene Technik und fand so seinen eigenen Weg zur Welt der berauschenden Harmonien.

Später spielte er gleichermaßen in Amateurbands wie auf Jazz-Festivals (u.a. mit Pascal Hermeto) und erweiterte so rasant seinen musikalischen Horizont. Als 18-Jähriger zog er nach Buenos Aires (Argentinien), um sich vier Jahre später auf den Weg nach Dallas, Texas (USA), zu machen.

Die dort gesammelte Erfahrung hat entscheidend zu seiner musikalischen Entwicklung beigetragen.

Das ist nicht zuletzt den zahlreichen Blues-Musikern zu verdanken, mit denen er spielte, darunter Hash Brown, Smokin'Joe Kubeck, Holland K. Smith, Tutu Jones, Lucky Peterson, Texas Slim sowie die Legenden Sam Meyers, Robert Ealey (Alex begleitete ihn auf dessen Tour durch Texas und Oklahoma), Curly „Barefoot" Miller und Magic Slim. Auf dem Blues-Festival in Tulsa spielte er u.a. mit Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Carey Bell und Roy Roger.

Auf der Rückkehr von einem Familienbesuch in Brasilien wurde er an der amerikanischen Grenze aufgehalten und des Landes verwiesen. Zum Glück hatte dies keinen Einfluss auf sein künstlerisches Schaffen.
Vielmehr ließ er sich in einem Heimatland nieder und machte sich mit frischem Mut an die kreative Arbeit. Die Unterrichtsstunden (mit bis zu 40 Schülern pro Woche), seine Studio-Aufnahmen und Auftritte mit anderen Musikern (u.a. auf Tourneen durch Argentinien und Chile) halten Alex bis heute mächtig auf Trab! Auf seinen Südamerika-Tourneen spielt u.a. mit David Honey, Boy Edwards, Phil Guy, John Primer, Jeff Healey, dem Harp-Player Billy Branch, dem Saxophonisten Joshua Redman usw.

Danach lädt ihn Phil Guy noch vier weitere Male auf Südamerika-Tour ein.

2007 spielt Alex sein erstes Solo-Album, „Let Me In" für das texanische TopCat Record-Label ein und zieht erneut nach Buenos Aires. Die Folge: Noch mehr Gigs, mehr Studio-Sessions und die Zusammenarbeit mit vielen namhaften Musikern.

2008 zieht er nach Antwerpen (Belgien), wo sein Erstlingswerk auf dem Blues Boulevard - Music Avenue-Label neu aufgelegt wird. Fast zeitgleich nimmt er mit dem Gitarristen Greg Wilson das Album „Accoustic" (TopCat Record) auf.

Alexandre Rossi

Born in 1974 in Blumenau, South of Brazil, Alex Rossi meets the Harmonica in his childhood. On the way to school as on the road which he followed to visit his grand-mother, was the only harmonica factory of the Three Americas. He often goes to the factory to observe the birth of instruments ... but no one seemed to be able to play it and the young Alexandre will wait to be 13 years old to put the lips on the cold metal of his very first harmonica.
Rewarding his melodic experiments with basic  musical knowledge he has from the practice of saxophone and percussion, as technical information given at the factory, the young musician develops his own technique, slipping step by step into the world of harmony.

From amateur bands to Jazz festivals (he shares the stage, among others, with Pascal Hermeto), Alex deepened his knowledge of musicality. At the age of 18, he goes in tour to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and at the age of 21, he takes the road of Dallas, Texas, USA.

The experience will fill him up and turn him into an accomplished professional musician.

During that time, the young man plays with great names of the Blues circuit as Hash Brown, Smokin'Joe Kubeck, Holland K. Smith, Tutu Jones, Lucky Peterson, Texas Slim, and the legendaries Sam Meyers, Robert Ealey (Alex toured with him in Texas and Oklahoma), Curly "Barefoot" Miller and Magic Slim. Sharing the stage of the Tulsas's Blues Festival with Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Carey Bell and Roy Roger.

When he tries to go back to Texas, after visiting his familly in Brazile, he remains blocked on border and sees himself refused to enter the USA. The terrible decision seems not to slow down the artist, well decided to go of the front.
As he established himself in his country of birth, his activity and creativity does not decrease in any way. With the courses he's giving (sometimes to 40 students a week), studio records and stage performances for musicians getting more in number and enthusiasm, tours in Argentina and Chile, Alex is a very busy musician ! During his tours in South America, he plays with musicians as David Honey, Boy Edwards, Phil Guy, John Primer, Jeff Healey, the harmonica player Billy Branch, the saxophonist Joshua Redman, etc.

Four times, he is invited as a regular stage musician on Phil Guy's tours across South America.

In 2007, he records he's first solo album ‘Let Me In' with TopCat Record label from Texas and gets established in Buenos Aires, Argentina ... more gigs, more studio performances with many more musicians.

In 2008, he gets established in Antwerp, Belgium, he's debut album is reissued by Blues Boulevard - Music Avenue and he records a duet album with the guitar player Greg Wilson called ‘Accoustic', with TopCat Record.
